A Letter from the Editor, August 2023
Dear Quilting Friend,
Are you in need of a quick quilt to make for an upcoming event? This week, Mary Kate shows you how to make the Flying Geese block using the lovely Cheddar & Coal II collection designed by Pam Buda for Marcus Fabrics (we share a link to the collection below). This block is one that makes into a quilt top with lots of movement. Use your scraps or stash and have fun creating a unique throw-size quilt for yourself or someone you love.
Another quick quilt to make is our free Celebration Mystery Quilt-Along. I’ve always loved a good mystery, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The finished quilt uses big patches to show off your most treasured prints. If you haven’t yet joined this quilt-along, Krista makes it easy by sharing helpful tips on what fabrics to consider to make this pretty design.
Episode 8 of our “Teach Me How to Quilt” series is one you won’t want to miss. One of the most important aspects of making a quilt is sewing an accurate scant ¼” seam allowance. Rhonda and Mary Kate show you how to achieve it consistently using a few different tools. Choose the one that will work best for you!
We hope you are enjoying Quilt Street as much as we enjoy creating new content for you. We just finished filming a fun, educational series last week that we’ll be sharing with you soon. We’re also in the planning stages for our next quilting series we’ll be filming that we’re sure you will enjoy. And stay tuned as we put our finishing touches on a variety of new stories, teaching moments, and a plethora of other great content created just for you!
Happy quilting!
Susan Guzman
